Danish String Quartet
October 23, 2016
Formed by three Danes and one Norwegian, the members of the Danish String Quartet find themselves at the core of the classical music world. Three of them met each other early on in life in the Danish countryside at a summer camp for enthusiastic amateur musicians. They became best friends. In 2001, professor Tim Frederiksen of The Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen got in touch with them and started coaching them on a regular basis. By the age of 15 and 16, they became a serious string quartet. In 2008 Norwegian cellist Fredrik joined in. The Danish String Quartet have delve deeply into works by great masters and have been fortunate to study in many different places in masterclasses with renowned teachers. They have participated in competitions and made some recordings as well.
