St. Lawrence String Quartet & Friends

April 23, 2023

Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center

“Modern,” “dramatic,” “superb,” “wickedly attentive,” “with a hint of rock ‘n roll energy” are just a few ways critics describe the musical phenomenon that is the St Lawrence String Quartet. The SLSQ is renowned for the intensity of its performances, its breadth of repertoire, and its commitment to concert experiences that are at once intellectually exciting and emotionally alive. We are especially thrilled to announce for this concert a new creation and a unique collaborative venture: an octet for strings by the renowned Argentinian composer Osvaldo Golijov. The new work, titled Ever Yours offers an opportunity to foster an unusual collaboration and connection between the SLSQ and four locally based musicians representing four San Antonio chamber ensembles: Eric Gratz (violin, Olmos Ensemble), Sarah Silver Manzke (violin, Agarita), Emily Freudigman (viola, Camerata), and David Mollenauer (cello, SOLI).
